1、 Precautions for the use of halogen-free flame retardants
1. For temperature design, the maximum temperature design range of halogen-free flame retardants shall not exceed 240 ° C. As the shear force continues and increases, there must be a downward trend in temperature. In addition, excessive continuous cutting of 45 ° and 90 ° blocks is not allowed. Ensure that the flame retardant is not subjected to shear heat and direct heating decomposition at temperature.
2. It is normal to have a small amount of decomposition odor during the production process, and the material made from it will have a low melt index. Therefore, when selecting additives for materials with other components, materials with higher melt index should be used as the standard.
3. Selection of lubricants; During the production process of products, ester lubricants can reduce the flame retardancy of flame retardants. In order to improve the processing performance of its materials, it is advisable to choose lubricants with ammonia containing structures.
2、 Application of halogen-free flame retardants in different formulations
1. Adding 10% to 15% talc powder can not only reduce costs but also adjust the specific gravity. When adding 10% to 15% talc powder, add 2% halogen-free flame retardant. Talcum powder and flame retardants are both powders. Talcum powder is not conducive to flame retardancy, and the addition of talcum powder will affect the flame retardant effect. Therefore, a 2% flame retardant should be added. Excessive talc powder can seriously affect the physical properties of the material.
2. Anti dripping agents must be added to the system of PP halogen-free flame retardant 306. The amount of anti drip agent added is 0.2%. If there is no anti drip agent, it will affect flame retardancy.
3. The effect of silica fume on flame retardant performance. From 0 to 15 phr, wollastonite is beneficial for flame retardancy. Adding 10 parts of silica fume has a significant impact on the flame retardancy of PP, and 10 parts of silica fume can reduce 2 parts of PP flame retardant. The flame retardant effect significantly decreased after 15 phr.
4. Add POE toughening agent. When 20 parts of POE are added, the rubber content in polypropylene is higher, and the amount of halogen-free flame retardant should be increased by 4 parts.
5. The recommended dosage for 3.2mmv0 is 22%, 1.6mmv0 is 25%, and 0.8mmv0 is 28 portions.
6. Halogen-free flame retardant 306 cannot be used for glass fiber reinforced PP.
7. Regarding the odor of PP halogen-free flame retardant 306, it is an acidic flame retardant with a pH value less than 7. It reacts with alkaline products and releases an ammonia odor.
8. The halogen-free flame retardant 201H can be used in products containing silica fume, with a higher APP content. It is more conducive to reacting with silicon. It has the effect of reducing costs and improving efficiency.
9. High white or porcelain white products can use halogen-free flame retardants with good whiteness, and the measured whiteness can reach 98.1. Tenth, gray or other colored materials can be selected.
10. Large particle size halogen-free flame retardants can be used for good cutting, which is more conducive to production efficiency. However, large particle size flame retardants have a significant impact on the physical properties of products. The general particle size is 1250 mesh.
